WEATHER BEAT: Fall Warm-Up Continues through Weekend

Posted

Welcome to fall everybody! The first full day of fall was a chilly one. The high of 69 degrees made it the coolest day since May 25.

Despite a cool start to fall, it looks like a warm-up is on the way. But before the warm-up, we have to contend with a cold start to our Tuesday. Bus stop temperatures will only be in the upper 30s Tuesday morning.

Looking ahead, it’s a pretty easy forecast for me this week as we expect sunshine with maybe a few clouds here and there to prevail through the end of this week and into early next week. We also expect temperatures to hover in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. The average high is 77 degrees now, but that number will rapidly fall into the low 70s and upper 60s as we get into October.

I hope everybody is enjoying the start of fall. Personally, this is my favorite season of the year. I can’t wait to see the fall colors begin to pop out next month. We are still expecting the peak of the fall foliage in the second half of October.

“My favorite thing to do is study the weather. It is truly fascinating. Nothing beats a good thunderstorm. I became very interested in weather when I lived in Okinawa, Japan, for four years and was actually inside a super typhoon.”
