WEATHER BEAT: Sunshine and Mild Temps; Showers to End Week

Posted

After a rainy weekend and some unprecedented winter weather on Sunday, March is ending on a sunny and mild note.

Of course, as soon as the workweek begins, naturally, the very nice weather moves in as well. Monday was a little windy, but the sunshine and very mild temperatures made it worth it. For your first day of April, we will see plenty of sunshine once again with highs reaching the low 70s. I promise this is not an April Fools joke. Wednesday looks sunny and warm as well, but we could see a few showers late Wednesday.

Beginning on Thursday, I am expecting showers and cooler temperatures. Showers will likely persist into Friday as well. I am not expecting a washout, but we cannot rule out a few inches out of these systems. The reason for the wet weather is a stalled boundary that will set up just south of our region. Depending on where the boundary sets up will determine the temperature. I am expecting the boundary to set up just to our south allowing for cooler temperatures, but don’t worry, it will be all rain. We will see a slight break from the rain over the weekend, but showers will likely return next week.

It may not be a picture perfect forecast, but at least I’ve eliminated the snow and the frigid temperatures.

My favorite thing to do is study the weather. It is truly fascinating. Nothing beats a good thunderstorm. I became very interested in weather when I lived in Okinawa, Japan for four years and was actually inside a super typhoon.”
