UPDATED: Bull Run Middle School Safe After Bomb Threat

Prince William Police announced that they have found, "no evidence of a bomb," at Bull Run Middle School. Students returned to school, which was able to resume operations, this afternoon. 
 
At 7:49 a.m., Friday, April 8, Prince William County Police received a call that there was a bomb threat at Bull Run Middle School on Catharpin Road in Gainesville. According to the Prince William Police, a teacher located a bomb threat posted on a door of the school. Some students were already inside the school at that time. 
 
Officers arrived at the school at 8:03 a.m. At 8:09, they were informed that everyone had exited the building. Students boarded buses and were relocated to nearby Battlefield High School. 
 
Prince Willliam Police investigated the incident, utilizing K9s, but found no evidence of a bomb on the premises. At 11:10 a.m., police informed PWCS that students and staff could return. 
 
The school reopened and students finished the day. Some police presence remained. Police are investigating who made the threat.  
 
Master Officer Renee Carr said they are not ruling out that it was a hoax. They continue to investigate.

FINAL: Ref bomb threat reported at Bull Run MS; NO EVIDENCE OF A BOMB LOCATED. Students & staff are returning to the school where school operations will resume. Police will continue (their) presence at the school as a precaution. The investigation into the note that was left continues.

Ref bomb threat at Bull Run MS, no devices have been located around the exterior of the building. The search will continue. The area near the school will remain closed as the investigation continues. Expect a continued heavy police presence.
 
UPDATE #3 at 9:34 a.m. 
 
The initial investigation revealed that a teacher located a note with a bomb threat posted on a door of the school.
 
No devices have been located.
 
A police K-9 is responding to assist in the search. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
 
UPDATE #2 at 9:05 a.m. 
 
Police are actively searching the building-nothing of concern has been located at this time. The area around the school will remain closed as the investigation continues. 
 
UPDATE #1 at approximately 8:50 a.m.
 
Police are investigating a Bomb Threat at Bull Run MS. The students are being relocated to Battlefield High School.

The school has been evacuated. Please follow police direction.
