41-Year-Old Manassas Man dies of injuries

Fatal Crash Investigation – Investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Sudley Manor Drive and Chatsworth Drive in Manassas (20109) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian, on Oct. 5 at 9:04 p.m.

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2021 GMC Arcadia was traveling northbound on Sudley Manor Drive, just past Chatsworth Drive, when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was wearing dark clothing and walking in the middle of the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the crash and contacted police and rescue personnel. The pedestrian was flown to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash on October 6.

Speed or impairment does not appear to be factor in the collision on the part of the driver. The investigation continues.

Identified:

The deceased pedestrian was identified as Bhupen Uprety, 41, of Manassas

The driver of the 2021 GMC Arcadia was identified as a 42-year-old man of Bristow

The Prince William Police urge pedestrians, bikers, and drivers to follow best practices to stay safe on the road, especially as it will be getting dark earlier in the evening.
