velocity-wings-cheerVelocity Wings, which has become a popular neighborhood gathering place, will hold its official grand opening celebration Wednesday, 5-8 p.m., in its new home in Braemar Village Plaza.

Velocity Wings is known for its award-winning wings, angus beef burgers and thick, frosty shakes. Many local athletes, business people and political leaders are expected to join the party at the new Velocity Wings. Complimentary appetizers and hor oeuvres will be served.

Western Prince William residents have already flocked to Velocity Wings, packing the restaurant since their soft opening and generating continued excitement.

"The response to Velocity Wings has been fantastic," said Jim Speros Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Velocity Wings, LLC., who is also the former assistant coach for the 1980's Super Bowl Champion Washington Redskins.

As such, Velocity Wings is very supportive of local athletics. Speros noted the restaurant has already become involved in the community through our sponsorship of local youth sports teams such as the Grizzlies football program and Patriot High School. Additionally, they have worked with several civic groups throughout the Bristow neighborhood and attended Braemar Day and the Avendale Community open house.

He expects Velocity Wings will continue to grow their community outreach program in the coming weeks and months. However, he expects that his restaurant's wings and burgers be what really ingratiates Velocity Wings into the Bristow community.

"Velocity Wings is the home of fresh wings, mouth-watering burgers and family fun!" said Speros. "We use only the finest food sources, from locally-grown, all natural chicken to our stock yards Angus beef."

Speros touts that Velocity Wings' guests enjoy all the comfort of home with a TV in every booth, popular background music, a wide selection of craft beers and a neighborhood atmosphere that makes Velocity Wings the destination for the entire family.

Additionally, Velocity Wings features over 25 wing sauces and flavors and a variety of fresh salads and sandwiches.

"Our wings are always fresh, never frozen," Speros said.

Since Velocity Wings first opened, it has attracted positive media attention. The restaurant was named in a poll by Leesburg Today as having the "Best Wings" in its 2015 and 2016 "Best of Loudoun" issues. Additionally, in 2014, Northern Virginia Magazine's People Choice named Velocity Wings as its "Kings of Wings."

The opening of Velocity Wing's Bristow location has been lauded by local media as well. Bristow Beat along with The Washington Post and Potomac Local have recognized Velocity Wings in recent coverage.

Velocity Wings has additional locations in Purceville and South Riding. As Velocity Wings enters the Bristow/Gainesville and Manassas community, the restaurant hopes to continue Spero's goal of spreading the Velocity Wings brand throughout the Northern Virginia suburbs with the possibility of other new locations in Woodbridge, Ashburn and Brambleton. Next, Speros intends to expand into the larger Washington Metro Area.

"The success and popularity of Velocity Wings have encouraged me and our team to begin the process of franchising Velocity Wings, Speros said. "We expect to see our first franchises open throughout the area in 2017."

The new 145-seat Velocity Wings restaurant is located in the Braemar Village Plaza, Bristow, the Safeway-anchored shopping center, at the corner of Sudley Manor Drive and Linton Hall Road.
