Orange Leaf Holds Storytelling Events for Preschool-Age Children

Seven weeks after opening Orange Leaf Bristow, owner-operator Rufus Manning has kicked off a weekly storytelling event every Thursday morning at 11 a.m. The stories are appropriate for a 3-5 year-old preschool audience.

Stay at home parents, homeschooling parents or daytime caregivers who have preschoolers they want to entertain are encouraged to attend and hear the weekly guest storyteller. Manning thinks it will be a great community resource, especially during the summer when many children are out of preschool.

This week’s storyteller, Ricardo Padilla, has worked for 13 years as a Montessori teacher. Now, he wants to give back to the community through storytelling and likes to choose books that engage the children to participate.

Michelle Worthington, who attended the event with her daughter, said she was looking to “emphasize the value of storytelling and break the routine for her child only hearing stories from herself."

Other parents said they enjoyed story-time for similar reasons.

Manning encourages parents and caretakers to take advantage of the opportunity to have their children entertained and enjoy frozen yogurt on Thursdays this summer by attending these weekly storytelling events at Orange Leaf Bristow, located at 12757 Braemar Village Plaza.
