Several unknown persons shot a juvenile on Sudley Road/Rt. 234, Tuesday night, then fled the scene while an officer tended to the victim. The suspect is still at large.

Prince William Police responded to the 700 block of Sudley Drive in the Manassas area of Prince William County to investigate a shooting, Sept. 20 at 9:34 p.m.

According to police spokesperson Officer Nathan Probus, an officer who was in the vicinity heard shots fired and recognized them as coming from the parking lot of a nearby fast-food restaurant.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officer found the victim, a 17-year-old Manassas man, with a gunshot wound to his to his lower-body.

The officer stayed with the victim, applying immediate first-aid until a medical helicopter arrived to fly him to an area hospital. The suspect has survived and the wound is not life-threatening.

Police believe the violence stemmed from an ongoing dispute.

Police were attempting to get a description of the suspects, but the victim had been uncooperative.

"This does not appear to be random," Probus said.
