Two More Gainesville Homes Burglarized; Possible Connection to Other Local Break-ins

Prince William County Police reported two recent burglaries on the same block in Gainesville.

Both incidents, which occurred on Meagan Loop, might be connected to two other burglaries Tuesday night on Tenbrook Drive and Sterling Point Drive, police said.

According to the homeowner, one burglary occurred between 12 p.m. Mar. 25 and 11 a.m. Mar. 27.

"Entry appeared to have been made through a rear window, which had been broken out," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing."

The second burglary that police investigated on Meagan Loop occurred Mar. 26 around 10:30 p.m., the homeowner reported.

"She heard someone ring her doorbell; when the homeowner answered the door, no one was there," Perok said. "The homeowner checked the residence and discovered a screen on a rear window was removed and the window itself was open."

The police said that no property was reported stolen.

While police have found no evidence to link the four Gainesville incidents, they are not ruling out a connection.

"It's possible, but we have nothing to link them at the moment," Perok said.
