Youth for Tomorrow CEO: Financial Impact of Country Fair Cancellation is Immense

Posted

youthoftomorrowThe preemptive cancellation of Youth for Tomorrow's annual Country Fair due to the  the heavy rain and wind forecast from Hurricane Joaquin this weekend will have serious repercussions for the organization.

"The financial impact on Youth For Tomorrow as a result of the first-ever cancellation of our Country Fair & Auctions is immense. There are costs incurred with vendors that we cannot recoup even with cancellation of the event," YFT CEO Dr. Gary Jones said. "We are not, however, defeated"

Jones hopes that the auction event, rescheduled for Oct. 17, will bring in significant funds to offset some of the loss from the cancellation.

"We are encouraging our loyal supporters to come out and bid generously on hundreds of items in our live and silent auctions," he said. "Income generated from that event will be  instrumental in helping us continue scheduled programs for our children."

The organization’s private school is looking to fund a new chapel, family behavioral health and administration center, therapeutic music and arts center and two new residences.

Youth for Tomorrow is a residential, educational and counseling center for at-risk teens located in Bristow.
