DC101 Brings First Annual Kerfuffle Concert to Jiffy Lube Live

A kerfuffle, a disturbance or a fuss, is just what DC101 hopes fans of '90's music will make over their new end-of-summer music concert.

On Saturday, Sept. 15, The Offspring, Sublime with Rome, Garbage, as well as Anberlin, Foxy Shazam and Dead Sara are coming to Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow as part of DC101's Kerfuffle.

The radio station was looking to create an outdoor event to bookend its popular Chili Cook-Off that they hold at the beginning of the summer.

"Every year DC101 Chili Cook-Off marks the 'unofficial' start of summer. It only made sense to throw another concert event to mark the end of the summer," said Assistant Program Director Dave Hennessy.

According to Hennessy, DC101 sought out bands for Kerfuffle that were available and would provide the most entertaining experiences to patrons of the event.

"These are DC101 bands that we know will put on a great show. The Offspring was our first choice to headline and we are excited that it worked out. We have been trying to get Sublime with Rome to play a DC101 event for the past couple of years and we were finally able to make it happen," he said. "Getting bands is always a challenge but our partner, Live Nation, did a great job fitting the puzzle pieces together to get the bands that we wanted on the bill."

The station chose Jiffy Lube Live since it provided a number of seating options for concert-goers.

"Live Nation approached us with the opportunity to do at Jiffy Lube Live. Live Nation is a good partner of ours throughout the year and the opportunity to work with them on Kerfuffle made sense," he said.

DC101 plans to make Kerfuffle an annual event that provides attendees with the opportunity to end the summer on a high note.

"Its an opportunity for us to spend the day hanging out with listeners and listening to live music from DC101 bands," he said.  "This is the first year for this specific concert. We hope it continues for years to come."

Hennessy explained the station felt the word "kerfuffle" was an appropriate name for the concert.

"We wanted a fun word that made people stop and say 'Huh, a what??'  Its definition is also pretty rock and roll!" he said.

Tickets are on sale at LiveNation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, LiveNation.com, the Jiffy Lube Live box office, or charge by phone (800) 745-3000. There's a special $15 All-in Lawn Ticket price for the first 2,000.
