Bristow Biz: Chamber Looks to Inspire Business Women Through Conference

Posted

The Prince William Chamber of Commerce is looking to celebrate the success of women in business by sponsoring the Second Annual Women's Leadership Conference 2012.

The Chamber women's leadership conference is the only such conference in the county; organizers of the event hope that it will provide inspiration to women through presentations and workshops.

“The event is about inspiring women and sharing the adventure of successful women,” said realtor Susan Jacobs, one of the volunteer organizers of the conference. “The conference is a result of women’s needs to share their successes and share with others.”

She hopes after the success of the first event and the response to this years’ that it will be held annually.

The conference will feature keynotes from Gail W. Johnson, RN, MS and President of early childhood education programs provider Rainbow Station & PRISM, Inc. and Brenda Blisk, CFP, CEO of Blisk Financial Group and Senior Vice President of Spire Investment Partners. Blisk was recognized by Barron’s Magazine as one of the “Top 1000 Financial Advisors” in the U.S. (#23 in Virginia).

The event will also provide attendees with networking opportunities and breakout sessions that will focus on topics ranging from blogging and social media to mentoring and philanthropy.

The Second Annual Women's Leadership Conference 2012 will be held at the Continental Events Center at 9705 Liberia Ave, Manassas, VA 20110 on Wednesday Nov. 14 from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Organizers request those who wish to participate RSVP at www.pwchamber.com/events or call the PW Chamber office at 703-368-6600.

Attendees do not have to be Chamber members to attend.

Last year’s Women's Leadership Conference featured seven keynote speakers including Dalena Kanouse, President & CEO of MTCI in Dumfries, who offered stories and tips for successful women.
