Despite the desires of many residents of western Prince William County, the Peterson Companies has confirmed that the California Pizza Kitchen has not been signed as a tenant of the Promenade at Virginia Gateway.

A source at the retail developer reported that the Facebook post was posted erroneously and that people should not infer that the California Pizza Kitchen will be opening a location at the upcoming retail complex in Gainesville.

The Facebook post was posted Monday and quickly removed by the Peterson Companies.

Original Story:

Bristow Beat received email yesterday alerting us to a posting by Facebook page Virginia Gateway, which advertised a new dessert drink being offered by California-style pizza restaurant California Pizza Kitchen.

The problem: California Pizza Kitchen is not a tenant at Virginia Gateway nor has it been formally announced as a tenant at the new Promenade at Virginia Gateway.

However, speculation ran rampant on social media that the Southern California-based restaurant chain will come to Gainesville.

"Does this mean it's coming to the Promenade?" one resident posted.

California Pizza Kitchen maintains a location at Fairfax Corner, which was also developed by the Peterson Companies.

The signing of California Pizza Kitchen as a tenant has not been formally confirmed by either the developer or the chain's corporate headquarters. The Peterson Companies removed the suspicious post after several hours.

California Pizza Kitchen has approximately 230 locations throughout the country. The company features unique pizza creations, salads, soups and sandwiches.
