Prince William County Schools has announced the appointment of Mark Marinoble as the new principal of Cedar Point Elementary.

Formerly principal of Triangle Elementary for the past 10 years, Marinoble replaces Principal Rebecca Miller, who will go to Yorkshire Elementary School.

In a letter to Triangle Elementary School parents, Marinoble expressed his mixed emotions about leaving the school.

“The after-school clubs, academic pep rallies and daily interactions with our students have provided such great memories,” he said. “It truly has been an honor to serve in the Triangle community.”

He ensured Triangle parents that the transition to a new principal would be smooth.

“While the work has provided many opportunities and unexpected challenges, the rewards and joys of working with the Triangle students will last a lifetime!” he said.

Miller, who has been principal of Cedar Point Elementary for the past five years, says she is confident that the school will thrive under the new leadership.

“Our school and community is filled with talented and caring leaders. Without a doubt, I am confident your child will continue to thrive, learn and inspire while on the path of excellence at Cedar Point,” she said.

Marinoble assumed his new post July 1.
