PWCS Will Not Be Mailing Bus Assignments This year

Prince William County Schools have announced that the school division will not be mailing student bus assignments this 2016-17 school year.

Bus assignment changes will go into effect on the first day of school, Monday, August 29.

PWCS provided the following notice for parents:

Important Notice to Families of PWCS School Bus Riders

Bus assignments will not be mailed to students who ride the bus to school for the 2016-17 School Year.

Bus assignments can be found by visiting pwcs.edu or any school site starting on August 22 and clicking on the prominent Bus Assignments notice. Or bookmark this link to go directly to the “find my bus” page on or after August 22.

Either way, you will be taken to a special web page where you will enter your student’s address and other information to get the most up-to-date bus assignment information.

According to Prince William County Schools Communications Director, Phil Kavits, PWCS has communicated bus assignment changes through various channels.

“We started announcing both by email and auto dialer calls a couple of weeks ago. Every household should have received multiple calls,” said Kavits.

Kavits feels confident that through their efforts, parents and students will receive the message.

“We reached out to parents in multiple ways. The schools normally display the schedules as soon as they get them. Between this, smart phones and public access, we are confident that families will have access to the info they need."
