71-Year-old Woman Sexually Assaulted at Manassas Heart Clinic

Prince William County Police charged Thomas A. Purcell, Jr., 42, of Manassas with aggravated sexual battery for allegedly sexual assaulting a 71-year-old woman while employed at the Carient Heart and Vascular medical clinic in Manassas Dec. 18.

According to the victim, Purcell, a staff member, assaulted the woman during a medical examination June 9, 2014 at the Ashton Ave clinic.

"Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused on Dec. 17." police spokesperson Officer Nathan Probus said. "The accused was located and arrested at the medical clinic without incident on Dec. 18."

Purcell's court date is Feb. 16, 2015 and he is held without bond.
