BOCS Solicits Public Input on Changes to Wellington Glen Project

Posted

The Prince William County Board of Supervisors will hear public comment on a proposed proffer amendment to change the location of the recreational area from the east to the west side of the Wellington Glen development at the Nov.20 meeting.

The amendment also seeks to relocate a multi-family building  from the east side to the west side of a Resource Protection Area (RPA).

According to county documents, the Planning Office staff  recommended approval of the proffer change because, "The relocation of the recreational facility to the west side of the site maintains a convenient location for residents. The relocation of all the multi-family buildings to the west side of the RPA keeps all the residents closer to the residential side amenities."

The staff also noted that the recreational facilities will ultimately  address the year-round recreational needs of future residents.

The Wellington Glen project will be located on the south side of Wellington Road at the Sudley Manor Intersection. The 133.58 acre development will contain a mix of commercial and residential zones.

As of Oct. 30, the planning office has received no objection from surrounding property owners.

The hearing will be held during the regular board meeting at the McCoart Administration Building, Board Chambers, 1 County Complex Court, Woodbridge at 7:30 p.m.
