Prince William County Police were busy in Bristow last week, as they responded to both a commercial burglary and an attempted residential burglary.

Police responded Jan. 24 to Academy Bus, located at 7920 Gainsford Court in Bristow, to investigate a break-in.

According to staff, the burglary occurred between 11:45 a.m. Jan. 23 and 3:35 a.m. Jan. 24.

"Entry appeared to have been made into a garage area of the business," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "Tool boxes containing miscellaneous tools, valued around $10,000, were reported missing."

Police also investigated an attempted residential burglary, which occurred at the 10000 block of Orland Stone Drive.

The homeowner reported to police that between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., an unknown individual(s) attempted to gain entry to the house through the front door, which was found damaged.

"No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing," Perok said.
