UPDATE: 16-Year-Old Bristow Teen Found

UPDATE 8:15 a.m.: According to the Richardsons, their daughter, Rachel Renee Richardson, has made contact with them.

On Wednesday evening, Rachel called her parents from out of state. They are relieved and happy to report she will be home soon, as family members are driving to meet her and bring her home.

Police have been notified.

Rachel's parents offered their thanks to the community for all the help they received spreading the word about Rachel.

"To all of you in the Facebook world we can't even begin to express how amazing the support from people we don't even know to just share our story and get her face out there. It is wonderful to know there is a good world out there…" Josh Richardson said. "To our friends and family again coming to our aid in time of need and help us through this very terrible event in our lives. We are so very lucky to have you all in our lives. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!!!!!!!!"

The parents of 16-year-old Patriot student Rachel Renee Richardson are asking residents to help in finding her whereabouts.

According to Prince William Police, Rachel Richardson was reported missing at 6:15 p.m. from a home on Golders Green Place in Bristow, having left home voluntarily.

According to her parents, Rachel supposedly took out money from the Bristow Bank of America and then had a friend driver her to the the Apple Federal Credit Union in Centreville Square in Centreville at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Her parents do not know where she went after leaving that location.

Rachel is light skinned with short straight brown hair. She is is 5’5” of medium built and weights approximately 150 lbs. She wears glasses, but did not have them on when last she was seen.

Rachel was last seen wearing an orange t-shirt, basketball shorts and carrying a black backpack.

According to her parents, she has been without her medication for at least a day, maybe longer, so it is imperative she come home.

The Richardsons have contacted Prince William Police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. They are hanging signs around the area, actively looking for her and reaching out to the community via social media.
