A vehicle traveling at 11:35 p.m. Sunday in the area of Vint Hill Road and Fox Chase Drive in Nokesville left the road and ignited the surrounding brush.

According to Prince William County Fire & Rescue Communications Specialist Kim Y. Hylander, police closed Vint Hill Road 15 minutes later and the fire was extinguished by units from the Nokesville Volunteer Fire Department.

Witnesses said the car was on its side and the fire burned some trees and brush.

“I saw the brush and front part of the wood were burning for about 30 minutes, not a whole lot of damage to the land,” Nokesville resident Crissy Puckett-Gagne said.

The vehicle was towed and there was no medical transport or injuries reported.
