"Building on the first well-attended event in 2012, an even larger event with an expanded menu challenge is being planned this year. You are invited to enter your best chili or BBQ dish and compete for the crown as Best of the Best in the Nokesville community!" co-organizer Mike Lynn said.

Lynn said cost of the event is $10 for adults and $3 for children 12 years old and under, which includes samples of the contest entries,  drinks and desserts.

Attendees can sample the contest entries and eat homemade chili, BBQ and sides as well as local restaurant fare, and takeout orders will be available for purchase as quantities allow.

In addition to great food, there will be family fun activities for all ages including rides and a moon bounce for the kids, a corn hole tournament and a family pumpkin carving competition," he said.  "Only Lonesome, a Washington, D.C. area Bluegrass band, will entertain throughout the event."
