Couple Attacks Haymarket Man with Hatchet Following Failed Drug Deal

Prince William County Police arrested two individuals after they allegedly attacked a 21-year-old Haymarket man when he attempted to purchase drugs from the pair in the area of Tournament Drive and Jupiter Hills Lane Sunday night.

Police charged Logan Rose, 21, and Sara Joseph, 22, of no fixed address, with robbery and malicious wounding.

"During the encounter, Rose brandished a handgun and a struggled ensued," police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said. "At some point, Rose grabbed a hatchet and struck the victim several times on the head."

The victim was transported to a local medical facility with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, detectives from the Robbery Unit obtained warrants against both of the accused, who were located and arrested without incident.

Both suspects have court dates march 4, 2016 and are held without bail.
