EMS Medic Assaulted by Disorderly Man in Sudley Area

A disorderly man with no fixed address assaulted an EMS medic, Tuesday afternoon in Manassas.

September 6 at approximately 1 p.m., officers arrived at the area of Wellington Road and Sudley Manor Drive in Manassas, responding to reports of a disorderly person.

"Several callers reported to police that an unknown man was jumping in and out of traffic," said police spokesperson, Nathan Probus. "During the encounters, the accused punched and kicked several vehicles as they drove by, causing minor damage to the vehicles and several lacerations to the arm of the accused."

Prince William County Police Officers arrived and eventually took the accused, Peter Steven De La Cruz, into their custody without incident. Officers immediately contacted EMS personnel who responded to treat the accused.

While EMS personnel were treating De La Cruz, he became agitated and struck an EMS medic in the leg. A Prince William County Police Officer quickly detained the accused without further incident.

No injuries were reported by the EMS medic. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Peter Steven De La Cruz, 46, has been charged with one count of of assault & battery on an EMS personnel and four counts of destruction of property.

His court date has been set for Oct. 17, 2016. He is being held without bond.
