Gainesville Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old Girl behind Braemar Village Plaza

Prince William County Police apprehended Peter Mwanzia, 26, of Gainesville, June 5, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl of Gaineville, behind Braemar Village Plaza.

According to police, the victim was picked up June 4 by Mwanzia, an acquaintance, and driven to the Bristow shopping center, where she said she was attacked. There are reports that the suspect was driving a silver Cadillac.

“After the assault, the accused let the victim out of the vehicle and drove away,” police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. “The accused was eventually located and following the investigation was arrested.”

Police charged the suspect with carnal knowledge, forcible sodomy, and the use of communication systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

Mwanzia’s court date was unavailable; he is being held without bond.
