Gainesville Man Nearly Robbed during Craigslist Transaction

Two women attempted to rob a 28-year-old Gainesville man who was selling a laptop on Craigslist.

The victim told police that he arranged to sell his computer and meet the buyer at the 15800 block of Corwin Place in Dumfries. However, at the location, he was approached by two black females brandishing guns.

“Both women displayed handguns and demanded the victim’s property,” police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. “A struggle ensued before both suspects fled the area in their vehicle [a newer model, red Jeep Cherokee].”

According to the police report, there were no injuries and no property stolen.

Police are searching for two women between the ages of 18 and 24.

One female is 5 feet 5 inches, 100 pounds with a thin build; she was last seen wearing a green, hooded sweatshirt and a black scarf covering her face.

The other woman is 5 feet 3 inches, 120 pounds, with a thin build and long, black hair; she was last seen wearing a blue/black jacket and blue jeans.
