Haymarket Woman Charged with Assaulting Officer Following Crash

Prince William County Police charged Cathy Jo Hottle, 41, of Haymarket with assault & battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and driving under the influence following a Jan. 21 accident investigation.

After responding to a single vehicle crash in the area of Arnold Palmer Drive and Golf View Circle in Haymarket, officers determined that Hottle, the driver of the vehicle, was intoxicated and arrested her without incident.

"While being processed at the Adult Detention Center, the accused kicked the officer in the leg," police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said.

The suspect's court date is March 4, 2016 and she is held on a $35,000 secured bond.
