Isolated Tornado, Severe Weather Possible Sunday Evening

Posted

Residents could see another round of severe weather Sunday afternoon and evening,

The National Weather Service warns developing storms could contain heavy downpours, flash flooding, damaging winds, large hail, and even an isolated tornado.

"The most likely time for the severe thunderstorms will be during the afternoon and evening hours," the service said.

A potent disturbance and cold front will track into the Ohio Valley this evening, which will strengthen upper and lower-level flow over the area, increasing the chance of severe weather.

"Supercells with significant severe weather is possible this afternoon and evening if the ingredients all come together," a NWS forecaster said. "Damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes will be the primary threats along with very heavy rainfall."
