Prince William County Police charged Jose Benedicto Marchorro Gonzalez, 27, of Manassas, with aggravated malicious wounding, strangulation and domestic assault & battery for allegedly attacking a 16 year-old-female juvenile from Annandale early Wednesday morning.
According to the victim, Marchorro Gonzalez, who is an acquaintance, and she were involved in a physical altercation in a residence located in the 11200 block of Golden Leaf Court in Manassas, which escalated.
"During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the face with a lamp then strangled her with an electric cord," police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said. "The victim was eventually able to get away from the accused who left the residence when police were contacted."
Police transported the teen to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants and arrested the suspect without incident.
Marchorro Gonzalez's court date is pending and he is held without bond.
