The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Prince William County until 8 p.m. Monday.

“One round of heavy rainfall associated with showers and thunderstorms will move across Northern Virginia through sunrise,” NWS said.

The service expects rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches from this system and additional showers and thunderstorms later this morning into the afternoon, which could cause flash flooding in some areas.

Bristow Beat will issue updates throughout this weather event.
