Obama and Clinton planned to hold a rally in Prince William County this past Monday, but the details were not announced, when the event was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. However, the Obama campaign has now announced its plan to make a visit to western Prince William County in Bristow.

Obama visited Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow in 2008, then the Nissan Pavilion, when he kicked off his campaign tour. He later returned to rally in Manassas to an extremely enthusiastic crowd.

While Obama receives a warm reception in Northern Virginia, the campaign realizes that Prince William could be essential in his bid to win the battleground state. Obama ultimately won the county in 2008. It will be those seminal voters that he can appeal to by visiting Bristow.

Bill Clinton will surely bolster Obama's reception as proved by his speech given at the Democratic National Convention. Meanwhile, Dave Matthews, a Charlottesville native, is a supporter of the President.

Despite the enthusiasm for Obama, he still faces strong opposition from Romney supporters in the area. Obama will need to both appeal to undecided voters and energize his base to get out and vote on Election Day.

Last time Obama visited Prince William County for a campaign event was on Sept. 21 at Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge. Shortly afterwards he found himself in a tighter race, as Romney gained ground at the first debate.

Mitt Romney was also planning to visit western Prince William County last weekend; however, his rally was also cancelled due to the hurricane.

Those planning on attending the campaign rally are advised to get their early and pack lightly. They will be extensive security.
