Prince William County Police responded to reports of an attempted burglary in the 8100 block of Tall Timber Drive in Gainesville Aug. 1.
According to the homeowner, the incident occurred sometime around 3:15 a.m.
"Entry was attempted into the home through a rear door. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said.
