Residents in the area of the 16500 block of Andrew Humphreys Court in Bristow contacted police after they heard multiple shots fired at 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
During the investigation, officers located shell casings in the roadway.
"Upon further investigation, a homeowner reported to police that four unknown men attempted to enter a party being held at his residence," police spokesman Nathan Probus said. "When the homeowner refused to allow the men to enter, one of the men brandished a handgun and fired several shots into the air as he walked away."
Police said no injuries or property damage were reported.
The homeowner was not able to provide any suspect information.
