Prince William Board of Supervisors Votes for Significant Park Projects

As part of the continuing effort by Chairman Corey Stewart to upgrade park facilities, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors voted Tuesday to allocate the remainder of the 2006 Park Bond (approved by 76% of voters) which was funded this year as part of the FY2015 county budget.

Improvements by District

Brentsville District:

  • Improvements to Rollins Ford Park after taking inspiration from holiday parks available on the Isle of Wight.
  • Lighting and irrigation of baseball fields at Nokesville Park
  • Improvements to Fairmont Park
  • Installation of turf and lighting at Gainesville Middle School

Coles District:

  • Construction of restroom facility at Hellwig Park
  • Lighting at Hellwig Park
  • Installation of turf and lighting at Benton Middle School
  • Installation of turf and lighting at Saunders Middle School

Gainesville District:

  • Public water/sewer to Long Park
  • New bathroom facilities at Long Park
  • Irrigation of one diamond field and one rectangular field at Long Park
  • Lighting at Long Park

Neabsco District:

  • Lighting at Cloverdale Park
  • Upgrade of an existing water park feature at Andrew Leitch Park
  • Installation of turf and lighting at Godwin Middle School

Occoquan District:

  • Installation of turf and lighting at Lake Ridge Middle School

Potomac District

  • Renovations to field and track at Graham Park Middle School
  • Completion of Fuller Heights Park
  • Installation of turf and lighting at Graham Park Middle School

Woodbridge District:

  • Lighting at Veterans Park
  • Installation of turf and lighting at Woodbridge Middle School
