The Virginia Department of Transportation announced that Aden Road in Nokesville will close to traffic between Parkgate Drive and Orlando Road from 3 a.m. Aug. 3 until 5 a.m. Aug. 5.
"The closure will allow crews to continue demolition of the bridge over Cedar Run," VDOT spokesperson Joan Morris said.
VDOT will detour traffic and place signs on Aden Road, which carries 3,000 vehicles per day on weekends, to warn motorists of the closure.
"Construction began in May and will be completed in early December," Morris said.
Shirley Contracting is the contractor for the $2.2 million bridge replacement.
