An employee of the Metro PCS store located at 8290 Shoppers Square in Manassas told police she was robbed by an unknown man as she walked to her vehicle 1:32 p.m. April 18.
According to victim, the man came up behind her and put his arm around her neck.
"During the encounter, the suspect took a bag containing an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area on foot," police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said.
The woman was uninjured.
Police said the suspect is a black male, 5 feet 9 inches, last seen wearing a black windbreaker jacket.
"A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located," Probus said.
The investigation is on-going.
This incident was the first of two armed robberies in Manassas this week.
Two men robbed the IHOP on Sudley Road early Tuesday morning.
