Woman Robbed in Manassas Monday

policecrusiercloseAn employee of the Metro PCS store located at 8290 Shoppers Square in Manassas told police she was robbed by an unknown man as she walked to her vehicle 1:32 p.m. April 18.

According to victim, the man came up behind her and put his arm around her neck.

"During the encounter, the suspect took a bag containing an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area on foot," police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said.

The woman was uninjured.

Police said the suspect is a black male, 5 feet 9 inches, last seen wearing a black windbreaker jacket.

"A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located," Probus said.

The investigation is on-going.

This incident was the first of two armed robberies in Manassas this week.

Two men robbed the IHOP on Sudley Road early Tuesday morning.
