The Prince William County Police Department will be on the lookout for HOV violators on May 22 as Virginia law enforcement participates in Capitol Region HOV Awareness Day.
Police will target drivers, on Interstates 66, 95, 395, and the Dulles Toll Road, who do not heed the High Occupancy Vehicle Law.
According to a statement, motorists are advised to be cautious due to the increased frequency of cars being pulled over and to acknowledge Virginia’s “Move Over” law, which drivers to change to another travel lane or pass cautiously if unable to get over when emergency personnel stopped out on the road.
