NWS Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook Ahead of Cold Tonight

Posted

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Monday evening as an Arctic cold front will move in from the east bringing scattered snow showers to the region.

"The scattered snow showers may produce localized snow accumulations up to half an inch...and briefly reduce visibilities to below one-half mile,"  NWS said.

They also warn that moisture form any snow could quickly turn to ice as cold air from the front enters the area.

"Colder temperatures and gusty winds will produce low wind chills in the positive single digits and low teens tonight," they said.

Forecasters are also tracking a storm system, which could affect the mid-Atlantic Thursday night. The weather system has the potential to produce a wintry mix.
