NWS Issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the area until 10 p.m. Monday evening. "Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening," NWS said. "Thunderstorms will be capable of producing locally damaging wind gusts and large hail." This system could bring heavy rain which could reduce visibilities to below one mile and potential winds in excess of 50 mph. Forecasters also warn of an approaching cold front Thursday and Friday that will bring a chance of severe thunderstorms.
