The National Weather Service is warning residents of the possibility of severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening.
As the thunderstorms could contain heavy rainfall, the NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the area. The primary threats of the storm will be damaging wind gusts and large hail.
"Scattered to numerous slow moving thunderstorms will develop late today into tonight," a forecaster said. "Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches will be possible in an hour, with saturated ground, flash flooding could result."
NWS warns that small streams and urban areas will be especially susceptible to rapid rises of water onto normally dry areas.
