So far this summer, June has been the hottest month, but an upcoming heatwave could give June a run for its money.
All indications now show that we are in for a heatwave, and some of this heat could stick around for the next seven days.
The hottest period will likely occur this weekend with highs in the mid-90s on Saturday and possibly near 100 by Sunday. Keep in mind that the humidity will likely make it feel well above 100, especially on Sunday.
By the middle of next week, highs will drop to the low 90s, but it will still feel pretty warm around here.
Stay safe in the heat this weekend. Drink plenty of fluids and limit time outdoors. Do not leave pets or children in vehicles even for a couple minutes!
My favorite thing to do is study the weather. It is truly fascinating. Nothing beats a good thunderstorm. I became very interested in weather when I lived in Okinawa, Japan for four years and was actually inside a super typhoon.
