WEATHER BEAT: Stormy Week Ahead

Posted

I hope you don’t mind some wet weather once again because each day this week until Friday features at least a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some computer models are even indicating we could see as much as three or more inches of rain by the end of the workweek. Here we go again!

For the rest of this week, here’s what we can expect each day. Tuesday, we will likely see highs in the low 90s with a few afternoon thunderstorms. Tuesday’s storms could be more numerous than what we saw on Monday.

By Wednesday, a backdoor cold front moves in dropping highs to the low 80s with a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms.

For Thursday, most of the rain should hold off until late as a cold front approaches, and by Friday, we could see quite a bit of rain. In fact, as much as two or more inches of rain could fall between Thursday evening and Friday evening.

Also, highs only near 70 will make it feel dramatically cooler than what we have been feeling recently. We finally dry out by the weekend with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-70s.

By no means will this week be a washout. Sometimes it can be difficult forecasting the weather this time of year because everyday looks like rain, but it may only be scattered storms and not everybody sees them.

Get out and enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer.

My favorite thing to do is study the weather. It is truly fascinating. Nothing beats a good thunderstorm. I became very interested in weather when I lived in Okinawa, Japan for four years and was actually inside a super typhoon.”
