Donna Elizabeth Hickerson, 55, of Nokesville, died Wednesday evening in an automobile accident.
June 1 at 9:08 p.m., investigators from the Prince William Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 14000 block of Fitzwater Drive in Nokesville to investigate a single vehicle crash.
According to Prince William Police, the investigation revealed that Hickerson, the driver and only occupant of a 2004 Chevrolet Tracker, was traveling westbound on Fitzwater Drive when she lost control, causing the vehicle to roll over and run off the left side of the roadway.
"The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene," said police spokesperson, Sgt. Jonathan Perok.
Police report that the driver was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol were also determined to be factors.
Sadly, this was the second fatal accident to occur in Western Prince William, June 1. The other, a multi-vehicle accident, occurred in Gainesville.
The investigation continues.
