TOWN HALL/DATACENTERS/SCHOOL BOARD

Community 'Listening Session' on Data Centers, CPA

with Brentsville, Gainesville school board members & Brentsville Planning Commissioner

Posted

School Board members Jen Wall and Adele Jackson and Brentsville Planning Commissioner Tom Gordy want to hear from you. What do you think of the plans for data centers and other developments proposed for your community? Tell them at a listening session, on Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m.  at Brentsville High School.

It is a "listening Session," meaning that citizens speak and the decision-makers will listen to your concerns. It comes one day before the Planning Commissioners vote on updates to the county's Comprehensive Plan.

These amendments would change the projector of the neighborhood, designating what developments are planned for 2040 or earlier.  Included in the CPA maps is the Devlin Tech Park, which has been deferred.

The Comp Plan Amendments are controversial in that some affect schools and neighborhoods and neighbors have spoken against them, but there are also some who find the changes would be beneficial to the county.

(Please note, the meeting is not about the digital gateway, but other data center developments, especially those near homes and schools.)

The event will be held at Brentsville High School in Nokesville.
