The Balls Ford Road overpass in Manassas is shut down in both directions, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, in response to an accident that occurring after 9 p.m.
Western Prince William Scanner Feed Facebook page reported the following.
"There was a crash on Prince William Pkwy earlier under the overpass that caused structural damage. Prince William Police is in contact with VDOT and is working to get the road back open as soon as safely possible."
"This was a tractor-trailer carrying a front-end loader that came off the flatbed and hit the overpass."
The poster gave an estimated time of 45 minutes until the road would reopen, but that may be further delayed.
Additionally, Prince William Parkway under the overpass is moving slowly.
"It was a tractor-trailer carrying a bulldozer. It hit the overpass I believe and it went flying," reported a woman posting to the page. "The bulldozer was ripped off the flatbed and ended up in left lane. We passed the aftermath about an hour ago."
This is initial information and it is an evolving story.
