WOODBRIDGE, VA – OmniRide, the operating name for the mobility services offered by the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC), has scheduled a public hearing to present its proposed FY 2024 budget and invite public review/comment. The public hearing will be held virtually on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 6 p.m.

The organization provides Local bus service in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park; Express service for commuters along the I-95 and I-66 corridors to employment centers in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.; and Metro Express which connects riders with Metro Stations. In addition, OmniRide’s Employer Services assists local employers who wish to establish or expand an employee transportation program.

The proposed $86 million budget includes $59.7 million for operating expenses and $26.3 million in capital costs.  The proposed budget also includes a fare increase for commuter bus services from $6.90 to $9.00 per trip when paying with the SmarTrip card. This is the first fare increase in more than five years.

Additionally, the proposed budget calls for new and expanded commuter services that would be paid for by the state as part of the I-95/395 and I-66 transit and transportation demand management plans and commuter choice program.
