Police Investigate Shooting into Gainesville Garage

Homeowner found bullet holes in his detached garage

Prince William County Police Officers responded to a destruction of property, Oct. 25 at 9:08 a.m., that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 16200 block of Lee Highway in Gainesville between September 20 and October 25.

The homeowner reported to police that a hole was observed in the siding of the detached garage. The investigation revealed that a round entered the garage through the siding and traveled through the wall and other property before falling to the ground.

No injuries or additional property damage were located.

The case is described as "reckless handling of a firearm," in the Oct. 27 press release.
