UPDATE: Teen Arrested in Manassas Stabbing Death

Prince William Police arrested a Manassas teen in the stabbing of two men in the Yorkshire area of Manassas, Wednesday.

The deceased victim has been identified as Herbert Martinez III, 20, of Sterling. The other man is expected to survive.

The suspect is being charged with second degree murder.

On May 16, detectives located and arrested the suspect for the stabbing that took place at the 7500 block of Prince Cole Court in Manassas earlier that morning.

According to police spokesperson Sg. Jonathan Perok, the investigation revealed that the two victims met the suspect in the aforementioned location to conduct a transaction. During the encounter, an altercation ensued, and the suspect allegedly stabbed the two victims.

The deceased victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the upper body, while the other victim was stabbed in the lower body.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit were able to identify a juvenile as a suspect in the case. He was eventually located and detained by police later that evening without incident. No other suspects are being sought in this case.

Following the investigation, detectives arrested the 16-year-old male of Manassas. He was charged with second degree murder

His court date is pending. He is being held at the Juvenile Detention Facility in Manassas.

The victim is identified as Herbert Martinez III, 20 of Sterling.

Police have not released the name of the surviving victim. He is described as a 18-year-old man of Sterling.

Original Article: Published May 17 at 4 p.m.  Prince William Police are investigating a homicide in which suspect stabbed two men in the early hours of Wednesday morning, killing one of the victims. On May 16 at 4:58 a.m., officers responded to the 7500 block of Prince Cole Court in Manassas (20111), Prince William to investigate a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located two victims, both identified as adult males, suffering from stab wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital where one of the victims died as a result of his injuries. The other victim is expected to survive. The altercation appeared to have occurred outside in a parking lot. At this time, no suspect has been identified. Detectives from the Homicide Unit are actively investigating the stabbing to determine what led up to the altercation.
