UPDATED: All-Clear Given at Bristow Run Elementary

The Fire Department has given the "All-clear" at Bristow Run Elementary in Bristow after concern for fumes that may have set off an alarm.

"Students and staff have returned safely to Bristow Run Elementary School," said a spokesperson for Prince William County Schools.

The spokesperson continued: "the Fire Department gave the all-clear after a thorough check to end the precautionary evacuation triggered by an alarm signal. All normal activities resuming. This evening's winter concert will go on as scheduled."

Prince William County Schools communications department announced that Bristow Run Elementary has been evacuated as a precautionary measure due to fumes.

“Remaining students and staff at Bristow Run ES, Bristow, VA, are being evacuated as a precaution due to unidentified fumes and the alarm sounding. Fire Dept. is responding," said a PWCS spokesperson.

According to PWCS dismissal was not affected by the evacuation.

"Dismissal was occurring at the time of the evacuation and students were able to get on their buses. Stay tuned to website for updates.”
