Murder Investigation – Prince William Police Officers responded to the Regency Apartments located in the 9800 block of Shallow Creek Loop in Manassas to investigate a stabbing, on Feb. 13 at 10:57 a.m.
A bystander initially contacted police to report an injured woman outside of the apartment complex. Additional information indicated the victim was involved in a dispute with a man.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the victim alone in front of an apartment building, suffering from a stab wound to the neck.
Officers used a portable stretcher to move her to a safer location where they then provided immediate first aid until fire & rescue personnel were able to assess her condition.
The victim, identified as Jennifer Nicole Marshall, 48, was transported to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries.
A nearby apartment was checked and cleared by officers as additional information regarding the suspect was obtained.
The suspect was subsequently identified as the victim’s son Darrion Hunter Wilds, 24, and the incident was determined to be domestic in nature.
As the investigation progressed, a witness reportedly observed the suspect walking along the train tracks near Bristow Road.
Officers converged on the area and located the suspect who would not initially acknowledge them. The suspect continued walking along the tracks as officers followed.
Officers eventually convinced the suspect to stop near the 10800 block of Bristow Road where they took him into custody without further incident. The suspect was not injured.
Following the investigation, police arrested Darrion Hunter Wilds, 24, of 9805 Shallow Creek Loop, #102,*, in Manassas. He was charged murder and stabbing in commission of a felony.
His court date is pending. He is being held without bond.
The deceased was identified as Jennifer Nicole Marshall, 48, of Manassas.
