Police Arrest Maryland Man for Bank Robberies in Prince William, Reston

Police believe the suspect robbed two Manassas-area banks

On Decc. 29, the suspect involved in two bank robberies that were reported to have occurred in the Manassas area of Prince William County was arrested. The first robbery occurred at Wells Fargo, Oct. 4, and the second at the Bank of America, Nov. 19.

The suspect was arrested by Fairfax County police, Dec. 28, in connection to a bank robbery in the Reston area. During the investigation, the suspect was connected to the two robberies in Prince William County.

Dec. 29, following the investigation, Prince William County detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Zachary Allen Hunter, who remains in custody in Fairfax County.

Zachary Allen Hunter, 37, of 1842 Ryderwood Court in Landover, Md was charged with 2 counts of robbery.

His court date is pending. He is being held in Fairfax County.

Bank Robbery [Previously Released] – On November 19 at 9:19  a.m., officers responded to the Bank of America located at 8501 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20110) to investigate a robbery.

The investigation revealed an unknown man entered the bank and approached a teller where he passed a note demanding money and implying he was armed with a firearm.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank. Officers and a police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located. No injuries were reported. At no time during the encounter was a firearm displayed. The investigation continues.

Bank Robbery [Previously Released] – On October 4 at 10:13 a.m., officers responded to the Wells Fargo bank located at 8118 Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate initial reports of a panic alarm activation.

The investigation revealed an unknown man entered the bank and approached a teller where he passed a note demanding money and implying he was armed with a firearm. During the encounter, the suspect brandished a firearm before he took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank.

Officers and a police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located. No injuries were reported. At no time during the encounter were shots fired. The investigation continues.
