UPDATE, Mar. 30, 2023- On March 28, detectives with the Property Crimes Bureau concluded the investigation into the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Giant located at 10864 Sudley Manor Drive in Manassas on Jan. 20.
While investigating the incident, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspects, identified as Benea Jacquis Smith and Marquse Tarrell Lucas. On March 28, both suspects were taken into custody by Fairfax County police.
According to the Jan. 23 press release, the couple was suspected of robbery and the male suspect of also brandishing a firearm.
Marquse Tarrell Lucas, 24, of 5415 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington D.C., was arrested on March 28. He was charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a concealed weapon.
Benea Jacquis Smith, 23, of 5415 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington D.C. was also arrested on March 28. She was charged with robbery.
Their court dates are pending. They are currently incarcerated.
Jan. 23, 2022- Prince William Police Officers responded to the Giant located at 10864 Sudley Manor Drive in Manassas to investigate a robbery, on Jan. 20 at 12:13 p.m.
The investigation revealed a store employee observed a man and woman put items into a cart and walk out with the unpaid items.
When the employee confronted the couple outside of the store, the male suspect brandished a firearm. The employee returned to the store and notified another employee before both employees left the store and confronted the suspects a second time.
The male suspect again brandished the firearm before both suspects fled in a black Honda Accord Coupe with Virginia license plate: TVZ8420.
At no time during the encounter were shots fired and no injuries were reported. Laundry detergent and diapers were reported missing.
